Fighting for Faith

Matthew 9:28-31

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”; and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region. (NIV)

We find here that these blind men did everything in their power to get Jesus attention; and surely they did. They were convinced that if they wanted to get cured they were going to have fight for it.

How about you and I? How much do you fight for your faith? Or are you quick to give up saying, “this is just the way I am and the way I’ll always be.”

The lesson to learn hear is that we can’t fall trap to complacency but rather we should daily put effort to fight for our faith. Without doing this we are all prone to becoming blind again so its imperative that we shout for the Lord’s attention fully trusting that he can and will heal us of our situation.

What are other things that we can do to fight for our faith?
